Procurement and Logistics Officer

About the role

Q-Sourcing Limited, trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec, is a manpower management firm operating across Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and South Sudan. On behalf of its client in the renewable energies sector, it is hiring a Procurement and Logistics Officer to manage procurement, optimise inventory and run efficient logistics for solar projects. The position is full time and based in Kampala.

Key responsibilities

• Sourcing, negotiating and purchasing goods, materials and services for solar projects while keeping costs down and meeting quality standards.
• Maintaining supplier relationships and reviewing purchase requisitions to create purchase orders within budget.
• Maintaining accurate inventory records, forecasting demand and running regular inventory audits.
• Coordinating transportation and shipping, arranging freight and customs clearance, and tracking goods in transit.
• Preparing shipping documents, customs declarations and import/export paperwork and keeping procurement records.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or a related field.
• Proven experience in procurement, inventory management and logistics, preferably in the solar or renewable energy sector.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in procurement software, inventory management systems and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of transportation regulations, customs procedures and international trade compliance.
