Project Manager

About the role

DFCU Bank is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and deliver banking and fintech projects in Kampala. You will be responsible for overseeing project lifecycles, ensuring alignment with board‑defined constraints, and driving successful outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day project activities, plan team tasks and monitor deliverables against timelines.
• Create, update and maintain all project documentation required by the Project Management Office.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, quality standards and budget.
• Report status to the project board, Programme Manager and other key stakeholders.
• Review project activities for compliance with procedures and standards.
• Provide project teams with appropriate tools, processes and training to enable successful delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Commerce, Business Administration, Business Statistics or a related field.
• Project Management certification or training; Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of experience, including at least 1‑2 years as a Project Manager in a banking or fintech environment.
• Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Enthusiasm and ability to influence stakeholders.
