Strategic Partnerships Manager

About the role

The Strategic Partnerships Manager is a senior in‑country lead responsible for driving systems change and securing sustainable rural access investments across Uganda. Working closely with the Country Director and aligning with FikaFika’s global advocacy and partnerships strategy, the role leads high‑impact policy alignment, advocacy, and innovative resource mobilisation efforts.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement advocacy, fundraising and partnership strategies that align with global priorities and the Ugandan context.
• Lead strategic partnership development with government ministries, NGOs and private‑sector actors to advance the rural access agenda.
• Conduct stakeholder and partnership mapping, ensuring timely engagement of critical partners.
• Build and maintain long‑term, equitable relationships with a portfolio of strategic partners.
• Coordinate advocacy initiatives to increase rural infrastructure funding in national budgets and secure financing from bilateral, multilateral and corporate sources.
• Represent FikaFika in high‑impact engagements with government agencies, drafting clear communications and strategic briefs.

Required profile

• Proven experience in policy advocacy and partnership development within the development or infrastructure sector.
• Demonstrated ability to mobilise resources and drive systems‑change initiatives.
• Strong understanding of rural infrastructure investment dynamics in low‑income contexts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to influence senior government officials and donors.
