Assistant Warehouse Supervisor

About the role

AGL, Africa Global Logistics, a multimodal logistics operator part of the MSC Group, is hiring an Assistant Warehouse Supervisor in Uganda. The role oversees daily warehouse operations, leads a team and ensures efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of goods, while managing inventory, monitoring performance and driving process improvements. It is a full-time position on a fixed-term contract.

Key responsibilities

• Allocate equipment, warehouse space and personnel according to the warehouse manager's schedule.
• Hold daily operations and toolbox meetings with warehouse teams and run daily spot checks against SOPs.
• Coordinate inbound, storage and outbound shipment activities in a timely way.
• Ensure correct stacking and storage procedures and carry out monthly stock takes.
• Issue gate passes and delivery notes, prepare manual goods receipt and dispatch notes, and counter sign stack cards, tally sheets and stock take sheets.
• Supervise permanent and casual staff, ensure QHSE and security procedures are followed, and keep the warehouse clean.
• Maintain item catalogues, archive documentation correctly, and provide reports and process receiving, discrepancy and damage reports.
• Take part in budget development and control, evaluate shipment complaints, and carry out delegated tasks.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Transport & Logistics or Supply Chain Management.
• 2 years of supply chain experience with a focus on warehousing.
• Tertiary education in logistics or supply chain management, WMS experience, MS Office training and other industry courses are an advantage.
• Innovative, pragmatic, resilient and flexible, with strong communication, analytical and planning skills.
