Branch Manager - Optical Centre, Masaka

About the role

Lapaire, a pan-African optical group founded in Kenya in 2018 with many optical shops across East and West Africa, is hiring a Branch Manager for one of its optical centres in Masaka, Uganda. The role leads branch performance, drives new growth strategies, strengthens B2B partnerships and boosts B2C sales, working closely with the Operations Manager and Area Managers and managing a team of Sales Representatives and an Eye Specialist.

Key responsibilities

• Know the business and its customers, understand products and their benefits, and increase brand awareness
• Drive sales growth, achieve and surpass sales targets, and engage in business development and market intelligence
• Build, train and motivate a team, allocate tasks, lead meetings and help the team meet targets (vision tests, cash collection, net promoter score)
• Manage branch finances and stock, record deposits and purchases, prevent loss and shrinkage, and prepare finance reports for management
• Maintain a clean and presentable shop

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce or a related field
• Minimum 3-5 years' proven experience in business, retail or branch management
• Proven success in driving sales growth, managing teams and implementing performance strategies
• Strong background in customer service and business operations

• Financial reporting and data analysis
• Proficiency with Excel
• Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
