Commercial Pricing Assistant - Apprentice

About the role

AGL, Africa Global Logistics, a multimodal logistics operator part of the MSC Group, is hiring a Commercial Pricing Apprentice in Kampala, Uganda. The apprentice supports the Commercial team in developing accurate and competitive pricing solutions for logistics services, with hands-on exposure to quotations, cost analysis and margin management. It is a full-time, fixed-term contract.

Key responsibilities

• Support the preparation of accurate and competitive quotations for logistics services.
• Collect and analyse supplier rates, operational costs and other pricing inputs, and coordinate with internal teams and service providers to obtain timely cost information.
• Maintain and update pricing models, rate sheets, quotation records and related commercial information.
• Support margin analysis and pricing reviews so proposed rates are commercially viable.
• Assist with pricing for client proposals, tenders and new business opportunities, and compare pricing options to highlight cost or rate differences.
• Keep accurate records of quotations, supplier rates and supporting documentation.
• Work with Commercial and Operations teams to respond quickly to pricing requests, and support basic pricing reports and analysis.
• Carry out other learning assignments and duties assigned within the Commercial function.

Required profile

• Recent graduate with a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Marketing or a related field.
• Early-career candidate seeking practical, hands-on experience in a commercial and logistics environment.
• Genuine interest in logistics, commercial activities, pricing and operations.
• Proactive, organised, curious and willing to learn, able to work with multiple stakeholders.

Required skills

• Strong numerical and analytical ability with good attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is an advantage.
