Credit Officer

About the role

SimplePay Capital Uganda Ltd is looking for motivated, detail‑oriented Credit Officers to join its loan appraisal and portfolio monitoring team. The role involves assessing loan applications, performing KYC checks, supporting disbursements, and helping collections while ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, review, and assess loan applications according to credit policies.
• Conduct credit appraisal, risk analysis and recommend loan approval or rejection.
• Verify client identity through comprehensive KYC checks and flag suspicious activity.
• Support timely loan disbursements after approval.
• Monitor loan performance, identify early warning signs of default and work with collections officers on delinquent accounts.
• Educate clients on loan terms, repayment schedules and maintain positive relationships.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare regular credit and portfolio performance reports.
• Collaborate with branch managers, loan officers and collections officers and adhere to company policies.

Required profile

• Minimum Certificate in a relevant field.
• Fluency in English and Luganda; additional local languages a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset and risk awareness.
• Target‑driven, self‑motivated and able to work independently or in a team.
• Willingness to relocate as required.
