Financial Inclusion Officer - Group Lending

About the role

FINCA Uganda Limited is hiring Financial Inclusion Officers (FIOs) to promote growth of clients and the portfolio in its group lending methodology. The FIO mobilizes new potential customers to grow the group lending portfolio and provides financial literacy training to group customers as they prepare to take up FINCA credit group loan products. The role reports to the Product Associate – Group Lending and covers many duty stations across Uganda.

Key responsibilities

• With the Branch Manager, draw up monthly plans for sales and marketing activities in the catchment areas, such as community sales drives, focus group discussions, marketing drives and door-to-door outreach.
• With the Branch Manager, plan a monthly three-pack training session for each group of potential customers to meet the monthly targets.
• Deliver financial literacy training on the FINCA Uganda Self-Managed Group Product methodology, guide groups in selecting their leaders and in group governance, and emphasize group formation, solidarity and record keeping.
• Evaluate the readiness of group members to take up FINCA financial services.
• Implement the monthly action work plans and give weekly feedback to the Branch Manager, with a dotted line to the Product Associate.

Required profile

• Diploma in Business, Marketing, Education or another related field.
• Fluency in English and the local language of the area of operation.
• Ability to ride a motorcycle.
