Information Technology Audit and Cybersecurity Intern

About the role

Crowe Uganda, a member firm of Crowe Global, is looking for an Information Technology Audit and Cybersecurity Intern. The intern supports the audit and risk teams in assessing clients' IT environments and cybersecurity controls. The role is an internship, based on-site in Uganda, with hands-on experience in a structured learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with IT audit planning
• Document processes and control environments
• Perform basic control testing
• Support the analysis of system vulnerabilities and security incidents
• Help review policies and procedures
• Contribute to cybersecurity awareness materials
• Prepare clear workpapers and reports under supervision

Required profile

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Accounting or a related field
• Foundational knowledge of information systems, IT infrastructure and basic networking concepts
• Interest in IT audit, cybersecurity frameworks, risk management and internal controls
• Ability to collect, organize and analyze data using spreadsheets or other analytical tools
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, ethical mindset and willingness to learn in a team, working on-site at the Uganda office

Required skills

• Familiarity with common operating systems, office productivity software and basic security best practices is an added advantage
