Relationship Manager - SME

About the role

The Relationship Manager – SME will market the bank’s products and manage customer relationships through proactive, consultative approaches. The aim is to acquire profitable new business, retain existing clients, and maintain high‑quality portfolios aligned with the bank’s mission and vision.

Key responsibilities

• Acquire profitable new SME clients to meet sales targets in liabilities and assets, growing market share.
• Identify business opportunities within the existing portfolio and develop mechanisms to deepen relationships.
• Manage assigned credit portfolios, monitor credit quality, and ensure clean portfolios with zero non‑performing loans.
• Review, analyze, and verify client documentation before recommendation for credit approval.
• Market bank products across Ugandan market segments, set targets, and achieve strategic objectives.
• Conduct regular customer visits and calls, preparing activity reports for the line manager.
• Initiate recovery actions on non‑performing loans and maintain a comprehensive database of relationships and prospects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree; professional banking qualification (e.g., MBA) is an advantage.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar banking role.
