Sales Engineer – Solar & Water Solutions

About the role

We are seeking a Sales Engineer based in Kampala to combine technical knowledge with active customer development for solar power and water solutions. You will identify new business opportunities, understand customer requirements, prepare proposals and quotations, and see projects through to delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new business through field visits, referrals, direct outreach and partnerships with schools, hospitals, businesses and other organisations.
• Assess customer power and water needs, existing systems, site conditions, budget and timeline.
• Recommend suitable solar, battery, inverter and water‑pumping solutions and work with the technical team on system sizing.
• Identify and develop borehole drilling opportunities, coordinating site assessments and quotations.
• Prepare and present proposals, negotiate within approved terms and follow up to secure orders.
• Maintain accurate records of leads, quotations and actions, and support installation and after‑sales teams.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Electrical, Renewable, Mechanical or Water Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• At least two years of experience in solar systems, batteries, inverters, electrical equipment or water‑pumping technical sales.
• Proven customer‑facing experience with ability to develop relationships and close sales.
• Strong English communication skills; local language (Luganda) a plus.
• Willingness to work onsite in Kampala and travel for customer visits.
