Senior Analyst - Planning and Analytics (Business Intelligence)

About the role

MTN Group is hiring a Senior Analyst for its Planning and Analytics Business Intelligence Competency Centre in Kampala. The role uses expertise in analytics, modeling and AI, together with a strong understanding of the business, to find and implement opportunities that improve operations and the customer journey. It also involves monitoring company performance and the wider business environment, turning data on customers, channels, competitors and macroeconomic trends into accurate, actionable strategic insights.

Key responsibilities

• Customer analytics and performance monitoring: perform customer-level analytics to explain performance trends, design and maintain user-friendly dashboards and data visualizations, and carry out regular and ad hoc analytics
• Predictive analytics and modeling: develop and maintain machine learning models for forecasting customer behavior, churn and business outcomes; run gap analysis to optimize agent network deployment; analyze mobile money agent liquidity, float availability and transaction patterns
• Commercial strategy support: partner with Commercial operations teams, use data to guide strategy, develop business cases for new initiatives and products, and assess the impact of pricing, promotions and market dynamics
• Support forecasting, budgeting and strategic planning with data-driven insights

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics or Computer Science
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the field of specialization
• Experience in data science, machine learning and advanced data analytics
• Strong understanding of telecom KPIs, revenue models and operational metrics
• Proven ability to simplify complex data and influence strategic decisions
