VP, Debt Financing Solutions

About the role

Standard Bank Group is hiring an Investment Banking Vice President for Debt Financing Solutions in Kampala. The role manages assigned vanilla debt financing solutions and supports structured debt financing solutions across the deal lifecycle, while contributing to IB revenue growth through a clear point of view.

Key responsibilities

• Manage assigned vanilla debt financing solutions and support structured ones across the deal lifecycle, meeting client needs and financial KPIs.
• Build networks of internal and external stakeholders to drive transactions, cross-sell opportunities and new products.
• Stay ahead of market, regulatory and industry trends through research and insights.
• Lead content development for proposals, pitchbooks and other client materials.
• Work with the deal team to build client relationships, present proposals and give expert advice.
• Own the interpretation of financial information to develop debt solutions, term sheets and supporting documentation.
• Prepare information, lead deal negotiations and present at risk and business forums.
• Manage delivery against deal revenue targets, monitor and report origination and financial performance, and contribute to regular and ad-hoc reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce or a related field.
• At least 8 years of banking or financial services experience, with 5-7 years in debt solutions, credit, structured finance or related areas.
• Proven experience leading client engagements across the full deal lifecycle, including origination, structuring, execution and stakeholder management.
• Experience partnering with specialist risk teams and conducting financial analysis and credit reporting.
