Chartered Accountant and Tax Lawyer

About the role

We are a fast‑growing European startup specializing in Microsoft solutions and we need a Chartered Accountant who can also act as a Tax Lawyer. The position is a long‑term engagement (12‑24 months minimum) based in Kampala, supporting a Latvian‑registered entity.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and organise financial documents in SharePoint.
• Perform day‑to‑day bookkeeping and ensure accurate transaction recording.
• Prepare, analyse and present financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow).
• Research and ensure compliance with EU and Latvian tax regulations.
• Serve as the primary contact for all tax‑related matters and liaise with stakeholders and financial institutions.
• Prepare legal tax documents for stakeholder signatures.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting for management.
• Manage QuickBooks to streamline accounting processes and identify improvements.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant with solid experience in tax preparation and compliance.
• Understanding of EU tax standards and Latvian tax law.
• Detail‑oriented, able to work independently and communicate financial information clearly.
